About the Role
NVIDIA is looking for a Senior Physical Design Engineer to join our world-class physical design team. In this role, you will be responsible for the physical implementation of complex NVIDIA GPUs and SoCs, from RTL to GDSII. You will play a critical role in achieving aggressive performance, power, and area targets by driving floorplanning, power planning, place and route, clock tree synthesis (CTS), and static timing analysis (STA). You will work closely with RTL designers, architects, and verification teams to ensure the successful and timely delivery of high-quality silicon. Responsibilities
- Drive physical implementation of complex GPUs and SoCs from RTL to GDSII
- Perform floorplanning, power planning, and power delivery network design
- Execute place and route, clock tree synthesis (CTS), and timing closure
- Conduct static timing analysis (STA), signal integrity analysis, and IR drop analysis
- Collaborate with RTL design, architecture, and verification teams
- Develop and implement physical design methodologies and flows
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in physical design for complex ASICs/SoCs
- Expertise in industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys Fusion Compiler, Cadence Innovus, Mentor Graphics Olympus)
- Strong understanding of physical design flow, timing closure, and deep submicron effects
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Tcl, Perl, Python)
Qualifications
- Experience with advanced process nodes (e.g., 7nm, 5nm, 3nm)
- Familiarity with low-power physical design techniques
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and yield optimization
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
