About the Role
- This role is for someone passionate about empowering every employee to do their best work by applying a data-driven approach to strategic business problems within the People & Culture strategy. It seeks individuals who can blend HR and analytical skills.
- Two profiles are ideal for this role: Profile 1 involves an HR professional with several years of experience and some analytical skills, eager to advance their technical capabilities into a full-time data role. Profile 2 targets an experienced data analyst or data scientist with a background or strong interest in the HR space. This is a Fixed-Term contract, slated to end in December 2026. Importantly, this role emphasizes leveraging data analytics and data science techniques—specifically advanced SQL and statistical methods—to drive strategic decisions and generate insights, rather than focusing on deep machine learning model development.
- At Google DeepMind, Artificial Intelligence is viewed as one of humanity’s most useful inventions. Their team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts, and others collaboratively advance the state of the art in AI. They apply their technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, while addressing critical challenges and prioritizing safety and ethics. The Core Analytics Team (CAT) is a full-stack data science unit that organizes, models, and deploys data to guide DeepMind’s strategy and decisions, combining technical skills with strong stakeholder relationships to deliver impact.
- The HR Data Analyst will drive data-driven decision-making within the People & Culture teams. This individual will build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand critical challenges and opportunities, and subsequently develop data solutions that lead to tangible organizational outcomes. The role involves becoming a key strategic partner, understanding areas well enough to propose, champion, and complete changes. The analyst will also utilize internal AI tools to scale their work across a broader stakeholder base. Potential areas of work include employee engagement, retention, and recruitment.
