- We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving end-to-end deployment of Cohere's North platform in private cloud and on-premises environments. The manager will own customer success from technical implementation through delivery, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how AI is delivered to enterprises. This includes mentoring the team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments, optimizing performance for OpenSearch, databases, and K8s services, defining scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources, and building scalable processes and technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
- Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments.
- Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how we deliver AI to enterprises.
- Mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments.
- Optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services.
- Define scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources.
- Build processes & technology that scales — we're growing fast.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership.
- Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale.
- Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
- High agency — you don't wait for permission to solve problems.
- A doer mentality — you dig in and get stuff done.
- Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Qualifications
- Fluency in additional European languages.
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure.
- Background in enterprise security and compliance.
