About the Role
Cohere is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Front-End Leaning) for North, their AI workspace platform. North is a secure, customizable environment for enterprises to deploy AI, integrating AI agents with workplace tools while controlling sensitive data. This role involves building and shipping features for North, developing autonomous agents for sensitive enterprise data, and writing minimal, secure code for low-resource environments with stringent deployment mechanisms, potentially re-inventing solutions due to security and privacy needs. The engineer will also collaborate with researchers to productionize state-of-the-art models and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features for North, our AI workspace platform
- Develop autonomous agents that talk to sensitive enterprise data
- Write and ship minimal code that runs in low-resource environments, and has highly stringent deployment mechanisms
- As security and privacy are paramount, you will sometimes need to re-invent the wheel, and won’t be able to use the most popular libraries or tooling
- Collaborate with researchers to productionize state-of-the-art models and techniques
Requirements
- Have shipped (lots of) fullstack code (Python and React) in production
- You excel in fast-paced environments and can execute while priorities and objectives are a moving target
- You have strong coding abilities and are comfortable working across the stack.
- You have built and deployed extremely performant client-side or server-side RAG/agentic applications to millions of users.
- You think like a product owner, not just an engineer — you ask "should we build this?" before "how do we build this?"
- You have strong opinions on what makes a great user experience and aren't afraid to push back on designs or specs that don't serve the user
- You've owned features end-to-end: from understanding the user problem, to shipping, to measuring impact

You love art and have an eye for design and a creative mindset - A plus, if you have a portfolio, GitHub or other showcases of your projects
